I’m sharing 8 of the most unforgettable kid-friendly luxury hotels and luxury resorts for families in the world (that you’ve probably never heard of!).
It can be hard to find luxury resorts and hotels in exciting locations that really cater to families. Often I find that luxury resorts tolerate kids, but they are truly more geared toward retirees or childless couples.
And when you’re using your precious vacation time to fly to a far-off destination (not to mention paying luxury resort prices) you deserve to stay somewhere your whole family will absolutely love.
In this post, I’m sharing 8 incredible luxury resorts and hotels around the world that will welcome your kids with open arms.
If you ever see a breathtaking Instagram photo of a wild giraffe poking it’s long neck through a window to share a bite of breakfast, it was taken at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi. But this kid-friendly luxury hotel is also the perfect jumping off point to visit baby elephants being fostered at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
The magical 12-room Giraffe Manor is part of The Safari Collection, a group of four Kenyan lodges. The Safari Collection can help you round out your Kenya vacation, with accommodations spread throughout the country.
And children are not just tolerated but welcomed at all of their properties. Sala’s Camp in the Maasai Mara offers a luxury safari experience, while Sasaab in Northern Kenya has a Moroccan feel (and what child would not love learning to make a traditional bow and arrow here?!). The Solio Lodge is the only hotel within the Solio Game Reserve, and it’s the perfect place to see Mount Kenya (the second highest peak in Africa). The Lodge even offers helicopter tours of the mountain.
The Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa is the perfect luxury resort for families in South Goa, India. It’s located on 45 acres, with a gorgeous meandering swimming pool and views of the Arabian Sea. Best of all, The Park Hyatt Goa offers the Camp Hyatt program, so Mom can enjoy a Marine Algae wrap at the Sereno Spa while the kiddos are well taken care of!
Goa is a well-known beach destination but there is plenty of history to take in too. The Portuguese Fort Aguada, built in 1612, is a great place to explore and allow the kids to run around. Don’t miss the Basilica do Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the remains of St Francis Xavier (1506-1552) lie in a silver casket. And a trip to Goa wouldn’t be complete without visiting a spice plantation, like the Sahakari Spice Farm!
The Fairmont Mont Tremblant is not just a skiing destination! This iconic resort also offers loads of warm weather activities, including scenic gondola rides, a summer luge track, and aerial zipline tours. Grab the Activity Card to save on several activities, like access to the Beach and Tennis Club at Lac Tremblant! At two of the nearby golf courses, Le Diable and Le Géant, kids 15 and under play for free with an adult.
The Fairmont’s Two Bedroom Condos are super family friendly – they even include a full kitchen! And while children under 18 aren’t permitted in the Axe Lounge Bar, you can still order their delicious Poutine off of the Room Service menu!
The Lodge At Kauri Cliffs is a kid-friendly resort that sits on the Northern coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Moms – this is absolutely the ultimate in personalized service for your family! Take a picnic to one of three private beaches, go on a four-wheeling adventure, and hike to the nearby waterfall while you’re here.
The owner’s cottage is the perfect indulgence for families looking for a special hideaway to relax. It even includes a private infinity pool and full kitchen.
The Wequassett Resort And Golf Club sits right on the elbow of Cape Cod. It will be super easy to keep your kiddos happy and busy at this family-friendly resort, with swimming lessons, sailing lessons, and nighttime poolside movies.
Simply put, you will want to come back here year after year. The resort’s vintage Good Humor ice cream truck drives around the grounds giving out free treats to guests, and the children’s playground and splash pad areas are pirate themed, naturally. Need I say more?!
The Tulip Cottage (with two bedrooms plus a living room with a pull out sofa) and the three-bedroom Mother Goose House (with a full kitchen) are both perfect room choices for families.
Lately, I’ve heard so many moms ask if Bali has any kid-friendly resorts and hotels. We have all heard that Bali is a hotspot for digital nomads, but what about families? Club Med Bali is the perfect answer. You’ll find all of the expected Club Med amenities and activities here, including kids clubs for all ages, flying trapeze school, and windsurfing lessons.
While you’re in Bali, don’t miss Waterbom Bali, a fantastic water park with features and slides for kids of all ages. Get there early and reserve a private gazebo to have a quiet, shady spot for some downtime!
If you have already been to Costa Rica and loved it, now the perfect time to visit nearby Belize! It is a super easy flight for American families, and because Belize follows Central Standard Time year round, you might even be in the same time zone.
The 12-room Almond Beach Resort is a part of the Viva Belize hotel group, which began in the true spirit of adventure travel (love that!). You’ll have all kinds of opportunities to explore here, from Mayan Temples to the Bioluminescence Tour!
And Viva Belize offers a Jungle Sea All-Inclusive Package, allowing you to combine your stay at Almond Beach Resort with nights at the Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge.
It can be hard to imagine why you would visit a Disney Resort without a theme park, right? But Disney’s Aulani might just be one of the best luxury resorts for families in the world.
Aulani has a fantastic kid’s club called Aunty’s Beach House that your children will be begging to visit day after day. In addition to free daily themed activities, kids can take part in premium paid experiences like Fish Are Friends and Kakamora Chaos With Moana.
There’s plenty of Disney magic here, including the daily Aulani Character Breakfast at the Makahiki restaurant. And the Disney Aulani Laniwai Spa offers adorable makeovers for kiddos similar to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques. You won’t find the usual princess transformations here, however. Options at Laniwai include special Hawaiian touches like a hair flower and aloha dress for girls, and a fish hook necklace and temporary tattoo for boys.
Aulani even has an Alamo rental car location right on their property, so you can easily rent a car for a day trip.
